From Plant to Bag

Hello, coffee friends! Have you ever wondered how your favorite coffee starts? It is a long, careful trip! We want to show you the important steps we take to make our special, handmade coffee.

Step 1: The Coffee Plant

Our coffee grows on small trees. We take good care of them.

Red is Ready: When the coffee fruit (we call it a cherry) is ripe, it turns red.

Hand Picking: We only pick the red cherries. We use our hands to choose only the very best ones. This is slow work, but it makes the coffee taste very good.

Step 2: Cleaning and Drying

After picking, we take the small seed from inside the red cherry. This seed is the coffee bean!

Washing: We wash the beans to make them clean.

Sun Bath: We let the clean beans dry slowly in the sun. They need to dry for many days. We move them often so the sun dries them all. This is a very important step for the flavor.

Step 3: Making the Beans Brown (Roasting)

The dry bean is green. It does not look or smell like coffee yet! We must heat it up.

Small Batches: We cook the green beans in a hot machine. We only do a small amount at one time (small batch).

Change of Color: The heat makes the bean turn brown. This is called roasting. Roasting gives the coffee its famous smell and rich taste.

Step 4: From Roaster to Your Bag

Packing Time: As soon as the beans are cool, we put them into our bags. This keeps the coffee fresh and strong until you use it at home.

We hope this helps you understand your coffee better!
